Endemic in the highlands of central Sri Lanka, this is the smallest of all Cryptocorynes. Its fresh green leaves grow to 10 cm in height and make it an ideal plant for foreground area. Unlike most Cryptocoryne species, it requires a fair amount of light and therefore it does not grow well in shadows. Also, it does not significantly change leaf shape and colour when changing to submerged form.
