Riccia fluitans can be found all over the world as a floating aquatic moss. Takashi Amano, popularized it as an aquarium plant and today it used as species ideal for foreground area or even as an epiphyte tied to driftwood or rocks. There are at least four variants of this species - Japan, Europe, Thailand and Singapore, and only Japan can grow submerged. When it is used as a foreground species, frequent trimming is required due to constant and fast grow towards to surface. It is not complicated for maintenance if it gets enough lighting level and CO2 injection.
